These are some scans from the promotional newspaper for the nation of shopkeepers. There are aspects of the designs I like, but others I don't. Looking at this made me realize I wanted to do more of a magazine than a newspaper, so that I can experiment with stock. I scanned these in as I picked up on a few things to do with layout. When i create my magazine, I want to keep the layout of body copy really clean & simple, but then experiment with bespoke typography as headlines. I the contrast between these two types could be really interesting and then experiment with stock colour, I think it could be nice to have a variety of different coloured stocks. I do not really like the layouts of these scans, but It has given me a few ideas of using patterned background and the use of colouring too.
